寓言像一面明鏡，映出矛盾複雜的人性。故事是一扇窗子，展現美好遼闊的視野。文章簡潔，故事生動，又富含教育意義是《伊索寓言》的特色。因此深受人們的喜愛，而被翻譯成世界各國語言的版本。因為翻譯的關係，難免會有「彎話」現象。有鑑於此，編者在選錄、編譯故事時也附上英文版的《伊索寓言》，以供參考。本書除了精選的100則寓言故事之外，也加上編者自己的感想、心得，並盡量以台灣諺語的方式表達。希望用這樣的表現方式，能帶給讀者一番新的風味。看故事學英文：本書採用中英對照的編寫方式，並於每篇故事後面附上編者的心得，讓你在讀故事的同時，也能輕鬆的學習英文。
