本書是被譽為「太極泰斗」的吳圖南的作品集，由吳圖南的外甥章學楷先生整理。
全書分為五章。國術與太極拳概論部分講述了太極拳的傳承歷史、練習太極拳的好處。太極拳、太極功玄玄刀、太極劍部分講解了每一招式的練法、用法，均有詳細「姿勢說明」「應用說明」。太極功部分披露了外界鮮見的「用架序稿」。吳圖南的「太極功」「推手」「用架」是其太極拳修為中的精華，也是最為太極拳愛好者追捧的。
此外，章學楷先生保存吳圖南先生20世紀80年代的珍貴錄音磁帶，此次修復、轉存為錄音檔，讀者可掃描QR code收聽。
